About Jeff Stoddart
Thanks for stopping by! Make sure to leave your comments on your favorite images for a little feed back for me! Now a little about me.
Born and raised in Grand Junction, Colorado, I spent a lot of time in the great outdoors with my family. As a boy I was very active in the Boy Scouts of America. This helped to fuel my love of the outdoors. At the age of 17 I received the honor of Eagle Scout.
As for the passion of photography, it's hard to say when it really started. My mom always had a camera and was always capturing the moment, whether it was a excursion to the mountains or just some wonderful family time at home. As a matter of fact my first real 35 mm film camera was a hand me down from her. A Fujica was the tool of choice.
I began having an interest in photography early on. I took my first real photography class during summer camp at Camp Redcloud. Over the years my passion and love for nature, and the drive to share it, grew and grew. It wasn't until later in life when I became unemployed that I truly set out to bring nature to others in the form of photography.
Although my true passion for photography lies in landscapes, nature and outdoor activities, it is not uncommon to find me photographing families, seniors, or even an occasional wedding. I believe that a well rounded photographer can learn from all facets of the art. I love to share knowledge of the art as well as learn from others. I love to travel and experience new places, and when doing so you can bet that I have my camera with me. It's also enjoyable just to wander around downtown with my camera over my shoulder, just waiting, and waiting to capture something wonderful and exciting.
